Over the weekend I finally got a chance to visit the famed “Rathbun’s” I previously had the opportunity to visit another one of the owner’s restaurants which is entirely dedicated to steak. I don’t even think I can put into words the amount of joy that steak gave me but trust that you’ll hear about it in another post. Back to the weekend. To say I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Rathbun’s would be an extreme understatement. This experience was an adventure for my palette and my taste buds were left begging for more. I dined here as a part of Inman Park Restaurant Week which was delightfully special because of the unique menu offerings specific to this particular week.
I began my journey with the Burrata- Arugula Salad and Crispy Shrimp… all I can say is wow. The shrimp looked amazing but packed a serious punch of flavor I was not expecting, it was truly a delight to the senses. In terms of the greens; I have never had burrata more fresh and creamy than what was atop my salad. Separately, each ingredient brought its own unique flavor and together they joined in the most beautiful union. These two really set the stage for what was to follow.
What followed was Chicken-Fried Steak and Creamy Pesto Cavatelli. Both entrees were absolutely divine. The items were more than ingredients that just tasted good together on a plate. I could feel the freshness of every single element deep down in my soul.
I finished my meal by trying two desserts which included “Chocolate Marquise” and “Blackberry Cake.” In the end, I really didn’t want to leave Rathbun’s---I was legitimately upset that my stomach wouldn’t allow me to eat anymore food. If you live in the Atlanta area, enjoy impeccable cuisine, and haven’t been here yet you’re seriously doing yourself a disservice. I’ll be back.
