As a lover of S'mores, I cannot tell you how much fun this was to make, and to be honest, I hadn't ever really explored them outside of the typical milk chocolate, graham cracker, and toasted marshmallow.
For this particular board, I decided to let my imagination run wild and add as many varieties of confections time would allow.
How to put together a S'mores Board
This was perhaps one of the easiest dessert trays I've ever assembled. As someone who spends a tremendous amount of time in the kitchen, I really appreciated being able to simply open a bag, and arrange the contents of each bag however I see fit. With that said, that is literally all you have to do to make a successful grazing board.
Choosing the contents of a S'mores Board
When choosing what to put on your board, think about the components in categories. Put some thought into cookies that would hold up like a graham cracker....you'll want to choose ones that aren't too fragile and that would be good for layering. I used butter cookies, Biscoff, and traditional grahams for this board and I loved how the flavors paired with everything else.
Next, think about the types of chocolate you like but consider adding a wild card or something you think others would enjoy (if entertaining) you'd be surprised what types of contrasting flavors go well together. The white chocolate squares you see below actually had salted caramel inside, this made for an unexpectedly exciting treat, especially for guests!
The last component is the marshmallows...I was quite pressed for time when putting this together so I didn't get a chance to use a broad range of marshmallow flavors but I would have liked to. If you know of a place that makes specialty marshmallows I would highly recommend giving those a try....you can certainly try out some unique store-bought options like I did, or just got with the original fluffy white ones we all know.
A couple of the unique marshmallows I used included Churro and toasted vanilla, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Part of the beauty of boards like these is that you get to put your own spin on it and turn it into whatever you'd like!
Enjoy!!!
