These tropical smoothie bowls make for a super fun, light, and refreshing summer breakfast (or snack). Make them ahead for days when you're in a pinch and want a little variety. You can create a few different types for the family to enjoy if you wish. What I have given you here is a basic floorplan for your smoothie bowls. Make them as is and they will be amazing or you can go for more layers, adding different fruits, mixins, and blend to your heart's content.

More about smoothie bowls
Usually, for smoothie bowls I use a standard recipe. That standard is 1 ½ cups of FROZEN fruit-divided if you use a few different fruits, ⅓ cup coconut milk or coconut cream, 2 tablespoons of almond butter, and a touch of agave sweetener if you prefer a little sweetness in your bowl. When making smoothie bowls with fresh fruits you'll have to give yourself a little wiggle room with how much liquid is used since the fruit will release its juice during blending. Now, make sure you have a blender that will really pulverize these ingredients, otherwise, you'll be left with chunks of mouth-numbing frozen fruit!! In any event, I've listed the specifics below.
Customize your toppings
Sooo, do I normally put my smoothie bowls in fruit?? No, but it was definitely fun for the photos. As with any of these types of bowls, the topping choices are purely yours. Some of my favorite toppings that I may or may not have had on hand for on this particular day include hemp hearts, Bear Naked Granola. Cascadian Farms granola, bee pollen, honey, and fresh fruit.
