Spiced Cranberry Sauce

  • Author: Handy Chef
  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 6 Servings 1x

Description

This may just be the easiest recipe you make for Thanksgiving. All you have to do is put everything in a pot and cook it slowly on the stove top. If you have fresh ginger you can use that for an extra boost of flavor. If not, ground ginger works well also. Don't forget to remove the spices before serving!!!!

Ingredients

Scale

2-12 oz bags cranberries

½ tsp fresh ginger, grated or 1 tsp ground ginger

2 tsp orange zest

¾ cup orange juice

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup white sugar

2 cinnamon sticks

5 star anise pods

10 cloves

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup water

Instructions

Add all ingredients to a pot and cook on low heat.

Periodically return to stove and stir mixture.

After 1 hour, the cranberry sauce should be finished and all of the liquid should have reduced.

Remove cloves, star anise, and cinnamon sticks.

Cool and serve.
